Canossa Hospital (Caritas) and KA Imaging have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Asia Summit on Global Health 2025, marking a significant partnership aimed at advancing healthcare technologies.
This collaboration signifies the launch of the world’s first portable dual-energy Reveal™ 35C X-ray detector in Hong Kong. This detector was developed by KA Imaging, a spin-off from the University of Waterloo in Canada known for its innovative X-ray imaging technologies.
The Reveal 35C X-ray detector is a single-exposure, dual-energy, flat-panel x-ray detector, using a combination of multiple scintillation layers. With just one radiographic exposure, it can acquire three images, a traditional Digital Radiographic image, a soft tissue image and a bone image. This innovation has the potential to improve patient outcomes by enhancing pneumonia detection, improving lesion visibility, providing clear line/tube placement verification and more, all without motion artifacts or extra radiation exposure. The unique benefits of the portable detector can also reduce patient’s discomfort and the risks associated with transportation.
By working together, Canossa Hospital and KA Imaging aim to enhance patient care and hospital services through the implementation of cutting-edge innovations.
