Responding to the fast growth of Information Technology in the Health Care industry, the IT Office of the hospital is under significant development. There are 2 sub-divisions in the IT Office: namely the "System Maintenance Unit" (SMU) and the "System Development Unit" (SDU).

The SMU is responsible for the daily maintenance, repair and troubleshooting tasks of the entire internal hospital computer network as well as those of the external web systems.

The SDU explores into all other hospital computer development aspects. The future direction will be moving steadily towards a more web-oriented and user-friendly hospital IT infrastructure.

The IT office is also responsible to conduct & provide on-going computer training to all hospital staff so that they can be equipped in the modern computerized hospital environment.

The IT office is also commissioned to draft and standardize the security policy of the hospital. Industry recognized security measures will be implemented to safeguard the sensitive patient information.

In 2003, the hospital administration has decided to install an electronic patient record system internally.

In 2005, the YingZheng project is launched. A collaborating effort of CANOSSA HOSPITAL with the Hong Kong Medical Association, the project aims at establishing a industry-proven secure standard with which clinicians can access patient medical information through the internet.

We strongly believe that the modernization of our hospital requires advanced information technology. An innovative hospital IT system can definitely bring our hospital to a better service and competiveness in the Healthcare Industry.
